hi all, As some sat providers are changing to mpeg4 and at present as far as I know my vu+ only has mpeg2 decoder, does anyone know if the vu+ duo can be upgraded for 4.2.2 or will it still show a picture on mpeg4 channels.

just to let you know as per your advice I tried other images and had success with latest vti image which plays dvd perfect, all is needed now is some good burning software then I can copy recordings from hard drive to dvd disc.

this is a dvd but you are right it is best to try another image later, thanks for your help in the mean time.

when I open dcc and ftp to autofs/sr0 there is one file which is videocd- 1.mpeg and 0 size.

no problem on pc. could this be a linux driver prob?.

I cant even see this folder and have tried and another dvd disc with same result.

the funny thing is when I go into autofs/sr0 nothing shows on the dvd disc, when I press ok on remote it just goes back to parent directory could the dvd disc be the problem.

I did this and it showed up after mount but when I go into dvd and filelist nothing is displayed from dvd disc, the disc is a pre recorded single layer dvd.

it is still not showing and the hotplug is installed. when I go to dvd player should it show as sr0 in media or whatever file tree?.

I have connected a powered usb hub and the did the mount command from telnet and still it is not showing as mounted.

I am not using external power supply because the drive is usb only, could a powered hub do same job?. after doing telnet from dcc it does not show anything like sro

hi all, at the I am trying to use a samsung slimline external dvd player/writer on my vu+ duo with pli 1 image, so far it does,nt seem to able to be picked up by this image or maybe I am looking in wrong place, does anyone know how to set this up. happy new year to all.

yes this was the image I first noticed had the problem. the real problem of network freezing with the new images is when enigma is restarted thats for sure. I dont know what is causing it but I suspect its the firmware.

hi, just to update you on the network freezing problem, I discovered what the problem was, whenever the epg was updated enigma was restarted then the network froze so I removed the 1.6 oe image and went back to open pli 1.0 and everthing worked fine again. my conclusion is that there is a bug in the new images with new 1.6 oe.

thanks anyway, In the mean time I have taken out the vu and am using an openbox hd that I bought to try out that way my server keeps running.

no it is a netgear dg834g and the problem has only started in this last week.
