Hey guys, first time poster from Australia, I bought the VU+ Dou 4k SE a little while back, So far it works OK except for a little quirk around the ability to play any YouTube video without either, Pixelating badly, stopping, stuttering or crashing the box? I've had many PVR's over the years and never had a box that could not play YouTube videos without issue, I'm a bit of a YouTube Junky, and the easiest method for playing them at leisure is to download them and save them to the box for viewing later (no ads). I've tried pretty much every video setting in the box, including all the presets to do with resolution and frame-rate, but I cannot get these videos to play as either MKV or Mp4. Frankly, this is frustrating the hell out of me because it can play pretty much any other MKV I throw at it without issue. The frustration is not just because I can't play these files on such a capable box, but because it shouldn't be an issue. I would appreciate the help of anyone who has the correct settings for these videos up to 4K at 60fps, which is the YouTube standard these days, or even just a workaround. Thanks

The Vu's are primarily receivers for television.
Do you have VTi on your box?
Because the YouTube plugin works very well:

All PVR's are primarily for TV, that doesn't stop them from playing external files well. I bought this box because it looked on paper, to be exceptional, it does do TV well, and it does play regular MKV's well, it just has an issue with YouTube videos, something other boxes do not. I was hoping there was a particular setting I could tweak. As for the YouTube app, it does work well, but it doesn't navigate well, and you need a keyboard to search. My way, I can search easily online and download for perusal at my leisure.

Also is there a codec or plugin for VP9 video? Thanks -
VTi is the image (the operating system) that this forum is about.
Our wiki is also for the VTi.

Hello,
as far as I remember, the Zero 4K and Duo 4K support VP 9 Profile 1 & Profile 2 because of the new BCM chips.
The Solo 4k, Ultimo 4K, Uno 4K, Uno 4K SE only support VP 9 Profile 1.
If the VU+ Duo 4K SE is based on the same SoC as the VU+ Ultimo 4K, then it can only support VP9 Profile 1.
On my VU+ Duo 4K without SE, all VP9 encoded videos work in full resolution. On the VU+ Ultimo 4K, however, they do not.
However, the DASH MP4 format must be activated in the YouTube plugin. Neu, YouTube PluginGruß satdx62The post was edited 2 times, last by satdx62 ().
