Memory allocation

VU+ Duo technical specs say it has 384MB RAM, where DM800 has only 256MB RAM.

However, memory available in linux kernel is almost the same.

cat /proc/meminfo (VUPLUS)
MemTotal: 141448 kB

cat /proc/meminfo (DM800)
MemTotal: 145500 kB

So, the question is, where is the extra 128MB RAM of VU+ Duo?

Hi,

256 MB are always used for Video processing, the rest is allocated to system.

Hmmmm, so Vu+duo have much memory just for sat operations, 256 mb compared with dm800 110mb , is my result and statement correct ? Memory for our work is same...
