      Hi all

      My new VU+ arrives tomorrow and would like to know what image to use. My first thought was to use the PLI image, there seems to be a new vs every day!

      Also what is the easiest was to get a channel list on, I have a movable dish. Is it an addon or do I need to use some other software like dreamset.

      How easy is it to connect to the internet, do I just plug in my ethernet cable and it finds an available IP address.

      Sorry for all the questions, but we all have to start somewhere, hopefully within a few days I will be able to help other newbes.

    • Use vti image. It is well supported here an has all necessary addons downloadable.

      I prefer to initialize the harddisk with ROiginal Image V4.6 first and do a quick check of the box bevor flashing VTI.

      Thanks for the quick reply, and will take your advice. I do not plan to put a hard drive in at the moment as I have a network and have read that you can record diectly onto the network. I am going to use the USB option to flash VTI.

      Could you help with this points:

      1) can I use a wireless dongle instead of cable
      2) Do i connect to the internet prior to flashing VTI, or after
      3) Can I download motorised channel list from the VU menu, or do I need to use dreamset.

      2) after flashing
      3) don't know about these settings on feed, maybe. But dreamset will work.

      As RM said, you need dreamset or DB Edit/DBTools and there is plenty of settings available. just search and you should find what suits you.

      They are both easy. Just have a look what suits you more. I tried both DBedit and DCC over the weekend, actually just used what still was running when coming back to the PC. Whatever you are after, you get it done in both applications.

    • I have tried Dreemset and have a small problem. On the setup there is no option to select PLI image, seems to have most other images. Can I customise, or do I need another vs of dreamset with E2 PLI settings installed?

      That was my problem I could not connect, but problem solved, downloaded a newer Vs of dreamset and now working fine.
